We were introduced to the Lovevery play kits by my sister in law, who gifted my son his first play kit when he was just a few weeks. Our lives forever changed because of this brand. Their products are intentional and research based based on the stage your child is in.
DISCLOSURE: AS A LOVEVERY AFFILIATE I EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES. THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS, MEANING I GET A COMMISSION IF YOU DECIDE TO MAKE A PURCHASE THROUGH MY LINKS, AT NO COST TO YOU. THESE ARE ALL PRODUCTS I HIGHLY RECCOMEND. I WOULD NOT PUT ANYTHING ON THIS PAGE THAT I HAVEN’T VERIFIED AND/OR PERSONALLY USED.
My husband and I see the value in the educational and research based Lovevery play kits that a bright, overstimulating, light up, loud, and expensive toy from the store cannot provide. Choosing Lovevery play things, courses, and play kits has been a true no brainer for our family because we have seen how it has guided our son’s learning and supported our journey as parents as well. This blog post will go into detail on our experience with the Lovevery Play Kits (linked here) and the brands other products . But in short, they are worth every single penny.
The Lovevery Play Kits
The Play Kits
We look forward to getting our Lovevery Play Kits (linked here) in the mail. We believe that our son is so smart (as every parent does). But we attribute some of his advancements to the research based progression of the play kits. Our favorite puzzles blog post , talks about how we believe the puzzle progression from the Lovevery play kits has helped our son be able to independently complete 48-100 piece puzzles at age two.
As the kits grow with your child’s age, so does the opportunity to encourage free and imaginative play. And of course there are thoughtfully curated educational components with the kits. From matching practice, to math concepts, to real world Montessori style toys, each kit is incredible. Plus the color palates are soft and many of the toys are wooden and minimalist vibe.
When we store our play kits we keep everything in the original box. This makes it easy to find when we do the activities that use previous toys to do activities with your older child. This truly helps keep all my son’s toys organized. We do a monthly or periodic toy rotation (see our toy and book rotation and organization blog post for more details. We keep items out from the current play kit we received and then we pull out other items from previous play kits to rotate in toys from previous stages that our son will play with differently now.
It’s a great way to keep things new and exciting, especially in between play kits. The lovevery app, parent guides, and periodic emails, which we will talk about more below, have helped us understand what to pull back out of the boxes and repurpose at older ages and stages. This brings value to the purchase because many items grow with your child.
Lovevery toys are top quality. They do not wear easily and they are just beautiful and thoughtful. The brand uses the same prints and styles of wood and plastic to keep things all uniform from play kit to play kit. It keeps our toy shelf looking beautiful, minimalist, and soft with their thoughtful color selections and palettes.
The Parent Guides
The Lovevery parent guides come in each of the play kit boxes. They are the first thing we pull out and review. My husband and I are both former educators and when we had our son, we honestly did not know where to begin. These parent guides gently guided us towards understanding how learning begins from birth and how we as parents are teachers for our children. The parent guides talk about the stages your child is in and how to support learning with each item that comes in the kit.
The parent guides also have additional activities and ideas to have on deck for your curious child. As a parent this feature is like a warm supportive hug on a often overwhelming journey through parenthood. The guides are going to make you as the parent build confidence in being your own child’s teacher and guide. At least that is what they helped my husband and I do.
The Books in the Kits
One of my absolute favorite part about the kits are the books. The books show real children and parents in real world situations. The images and words in them have truly help my son learn things about going to the park, celebrating birthdays, making muffins, or using the bathroom. The real images really make a difference vs. illustrations of characters in your traditional books. Our son loves the books so much and we keep all them out all the time. He is almost three now and he can pick them up and start to “read” them by looking at the pictures. We are obsessed with the books from our Lovevery play kits.
The Lovevery App + Emails
When you subscribe to the play kits you get access to the Lovevery App. It is an amazing resource for parents. The app provides ideas to extend learning and play with the toys from your play kits. It also provides additional activities to do with your child based on the age range they are at too. The app also provides articles for parents that are helpful during your journey of learning how to be a mother/father. They have a section that talks about play things that grow with your child and how to use and re-purpose them as your child advances in age and development. Overall it has been a very helpful tool to have available for our family as our son has grown.
When you subscribe to the play kits you also get on Lovevery’s email list. They send out more articles and resources too that are helpful along the way. It’s also a very nice feature of the play kits and being a Lovevery Customer.
Other Lovevery items we love
Lovevery is very well known for their subscription based play kits, but they also have even more incredible play things and courses that have supported the learning and development of our child. We will share a few items that we have enjoyed and loved so far here. You don’t have to be a subscriber to the play kits to purchase these items. We will talk more about where to purchase Lovevery play kits and play things later in this blog post.
The Play Tunnel
The Lovevery organic cotton play tunnel has been a super fun toy for our son. It has grown with him from age one through almost three. It is fun for imaginative and free play. Plus it is super cool when making forts indoors. I really love how soft the fabric is. It’s easy to clean and overall a great choice for a little one to enjoy playing.
The Block Set
The Lovevery block set is hands down one of our favorite toys. This block set has endless opportunities for learning and play. It is very high quality and holds up well. The colors are nice and esthetically pleasing. Plus there are a variety of block shapes and sizes for endless varieties of things to build and ways to play. You and your child can build towers, you can pretend play with the little peg people, you can build a ramp or a car with the magnetic circular pieces and rods. You can sort shapes and colors, and you can count too. Seriously the possibilities are endless. Plus the age range for this block set is eighteen months up to four plus years. That is a lot of value for the price. I love this as a gift or for your families play room.
Courses
Lovevery also has some amazing courses in their online shop. The one course we have used and purchased is the Potty Training Course. It has been an amazing resource for us. We will share more on our potty training journey soon. But this course was supportive to us as parents and provided resources for our child to learn and understand the concept of not using the bathroom in a diaper anymore. This course is so valuable. It has a song, books, and magnetic routine cards to help your child see what they need to do, and of course the beloved parent guide. The parent guide in this one is super thick full of all the encouragement and support to help the major potty training life transition.
Lovevery also offers other course packs that we have not yet tried. But we have our eye on the new sibling course for when we have our second child too.
Where to Purchase Lovevery
Lovevery.com
We purchase our lovevery play kit subscription box, courses, and anything else directly from the Lovevery app/website. There website is user friendly and you can pause, change the date, or change your subscription any time. They also offer bonuses like their subscriber “shop” where you can purchase additional items for the kits. If you are a subscriber you also get notified of when there is a sale. It’s awesome.
Your local Target
Also, Target sells some individual play toys from Lovevery, the play gym, the block set, and the first months subscription box. I love to pick up one of the wooden books or one of the puzzles that come individually for a new mom or for a baby shower gift. They are cost effective and an educational choice and don’t require a subscription. It gives you a little taste of what the brand is all about. And trust me, once you see the impact it has on your child, there is no going back.
Other Ideas to bring Lovevery into your life
One other idea is to look online or talk to your local moms/dads to see if anyone is selling their old kits or if you can borrow one that their child is not using. This is definitely cost effective.
Another idea is during Christmas or Birthday seasons ask family and friends to not purchase (see gifting little ones blog post) any plastic or random toys and instead to give gift cards towards your childs play subscription or to pick out any Lovevery toy option. This is a super reasonable and helpful boundary. Plus it truly brings learning inspiration into your home vs. a plastic noisy toy with no educational value.
Add the play kits to your baby registry or gift them to a friend.
